Koi ni Ochita Kaizokuou – Prologue

This is a mobile game from Voltage. They’re a well-known company in Japan for producing popular games aimed at women. Early this year they ported 恋に落ちた海賊王 for the iPhone and Japanese, cellphone, and Android. They even translated the game into English; the official title in English is Pirates in Love. In this report I will be talking about the Japanese version. It’s not because it’s better than the English version. They’re the same – it’s just that the Japanese version has released more things like epilogues for each character and side stories so I believe you will want that. LOL I will stick with the Japanese names. The heroine’s in Voltage’s games never have a default name, you have to make one up, and so for convenience sake I’ll refer to her as Sayaka. LOL

The game starts with Sayaka preparing for work. She works at a bar and the owner hasn’t come by yet. A bunch of hooligans come by and make up a ruckus asking for beer. Sayaka tries to be polite and tells them that the bar opens in the evening. Since they don’t like that response they start messing with her and the bar but then it escalates when one of the thugs brings out a knife and Sayaka calls for help. Suddenly, a gunshot is fired and it hits one of the thugs in the arm. A guy with an eye patch and a gun comes into the bar and says it was noisy and tells the two guys and that they’re scum trying to get with a kid. Then he asks the thugs what’s so good about a shortie. *sigh* that really hurt…because I’m short in real life! orz (Anyway, the actual phrase is こんなチンチクリンの、どこがいいんだ) In the end Sayaka thought the same as me and marked they eye patch guy as a bad person. LOL Then suddenly another guy comes called Hayate who is younger, blonde, and carries double swords and complains “Shin, don’t leave me behind!” Then one of the thugs starts a fight with Hayate. Sayaka says that there’s no way Hayate can take them all on because it’s 10 against 2. However, Hayate ends up defeating them all. One of the thugs wonders who those 2 are. Then Shin asks if he wants to see and shoots at all the thugs knives. Then one of the guys remembers their faces and mentions that they’re from the Sirius crew. Shin grabs Sayaka’s arm and tells her to run away. Sayaka agrees and Shin is pleased with her response saying that she knows how to take orders. After Sayaka runs away the thugs chase after her. Sayaka manages to find an empty barrel and hides in it and waits for the thugs to go away. However, before she can leave someone tightens the lid and carries away. The way the person carries the barrel makes Sayaka hit head somewhere in the barrel and she gets knocked out. When Sayaka wakes up she tries to get up but the barrel has been sealed shut and she worries about being stuck in it for a long time. Fortunately for her someone actually opens the barrel and Sayaka takes the chance to get out. The first thing she sees is a cute red headed boy. Instead of asking who she is the boy freaks saying that Nagi-san and the others are going to get mad at because the beer turned into a woman. LOL Then a man with a bandana comes in asking the redhead, Towa why he’s taking so long and then looks at Sayaka and also gets surprised. Towa then apologizes to Nagi-san but then corrects himself saying it’s not his fault. LOL Sayaka begins apologizing but Nagi cuts her off asking how she snuck on the ship. Sayaka freaks out because she doesn’t know she’s on a ship. Sayaka then explains why she was in the barrel. Nagi then carries Sayaka out of the barrel and into the ship’s infirmary. Nagi asks the doctor to take care of Sayaka. The doctor makes a comment of how rare and cute the patient is.LOL Nagi explains that Sayaka bumped her head and the doctor examines it immediately. Sayaka flinches in pain at first but the doctor apologizes that he doesn’t deal with girls too often and pats her head gently. (By this time I was crying in my otome heart because all the other guys were so rough! Well, Towa didn’t do it purpose…) the doctor tells Sayaka not to worry and says that everything alright. When Sayaka explains her story to the doctor she starts to cry. The doctor gives Sayaka some ice for her bump and brings her on deck to get introduced to everyone. the swordsman, Hayate from before asks why there’s a woman on board. Sayaka remembers him and reminds him about what happened at the bar. Hayate leans in close to examine Sayaka’s face but can’t remember and asks if he’s Soushi-san’s woman. Nagi says that there’s no way that the doctor, Soushi, has a woman and asks if its Shin’s instead. Then Shin comes out and asks what they’re talking about. Sayaka remembers Shin and vice versa. Shin asks for her name and says he’ll remember it before he throws her into the sea and asks if she wants to be blind folded or not. Then Towa tells Shin not to do naughty things on the ship! Shin tells Towa he’s thinking about the wrong thing. OTL Then Sayaka demands to know where the ship is going. Hayate says it’s obvious that they’re looking for treasure and Nagi is surprised that Sayaka doesn’t know that she’s on board with the Sirius Pirates. Nagi complains and Hayate is also with Shin about throwing Sayaka overboard. (-_-#) Soushi intervenes and scolds them for scaring Sayaka. Shin says that Soushi is being too nice and offers to sell her at a dock instead. Sayaka tries getting a more reasonable option. This annoys Shin and says that he can leave Sayaka on an island or feed her to the seagulls. Then both Soushi AND Towa intervene; Soushi chides Shin for scaring Sayaka and Towa says there’s no need to make a big fuss since she’s not on the ship of her free will. Hayate protests that women aren’t allowed on pirate ships. Soushi scolds him if it would really be ok for him to feed Sayaka to sharks. Shin jokes wondering if sharks would be interested in her at all. Then huge laughter breaks the conversation and a man who appears to be the captain says that this is good entertainment underneath the moonlight. Captain Ryuuga decides to make Sayaka a member of Sirius right there. Naturally, everyone is surprised. LOL Ryuuga says the ship was reeking too much with male sweat. This causes both Hayate and Shin to shut up because they follow the captain’s orders but Shin is sad that he can’t tease her anymore. LOL Towa makes up for it cheering that they’ve gained a new comrade. Ryuuga tells Sayaka the three rules of Sirus: 1. Protect your comrades with your life. 2. Never let women or children be harmed. 3. Party till dawn when the moon is full. Ryuuga assures that all of the guys are nice to women but from what had transpired before it’s hard for Sayaka to believe (I don’t blame her at all either LOL.) There is a problem though the ship doesn’t have any spare rooms for her so she has to share one with another crew member. So…from here on out you get to choose a route
